Sounds like heaven, excellent food and sharpening writing skills in a gorgeous place with generous people. I have read many recipes and love a well crafted one, but never considered food writing for myself. I’m thinking that now might be a great time to start- if I could only be on a beach in Morocco!
If only! Funny how it gets the juices flowing to be in a room and write from prompts. How does a beach in Sicily sound, Betsy? That's my destination for next year.
So many taglines and so much tea! Afterwards we traveled around the country and at each riad, they greeted us with mint tea and a few cookies. Heavenly. Also, every tagine was different, somehow. There's so much variety in the foods there.
Under the tutelage of you and Sanaa there was space and safety to explore thoughts and places that had previously escaped me. Figurative and literal. Thank you, Dianne for your guidance, compassion and humor. This trip is a touchstone for what is possible when one leaps.
Yes indeed, in addition to the tanginess, we enjoyed all the different kinds of cooked and raw salads, eggplant pies and "cigars," cous cous and vermicelli dishes, and the cookies! I have a sweet tooth and couldn't get enough.
I enjoyed reading about Moroccan food in your new cookbook, Matthew. You inspired me to cook more of it.

What a magic and wonderful time, Dianne!
Thank you. I hope I conveyed how joyous it was.
How great, I love Morocco (and Tagines and Mint Tea!:)

Truly wonderful, so glad you had a great experience!
I can’t think of a better way to live than to teach how to write about food from beautiful locations around the world.
This is a dream writing trip for me!

This looks so dreamy!
This sounds so fantastic — would love to do this kind of trip!
You are living the dream, Dianne! I hope to follow in your footsteps.
It all looks magical.
I usually don't use that word, but it was warranted!
Intrigued by the lemon tiramisu. Did you get that recipe?
No. We didn't like it as much as the cake. It tasted mostly like lemon cake.
What a dream: to live it AND write about it.
Hah. Yes, I'm grateful to have figured out how to make my work life so much fun.
Sounds great and the Moroccan cuisine is one the best.
